Emily Procter

 

American actress Emily Mallory Procter, born on October 8, 1968, is also an activist. She played Ainsley Hayes on the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne on the CBS police procedural drama CSI: Miami (2002-2012).



 



 Early life



 Procter was born on 8 October, 1968. She was adopted at an infant age by William Procter, a general physician and Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker, and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was only three years of age when her parents divorced. Whit, her older brother, has also been adopted.



 



 Ravenscroft School, Raleigh was Procter's primary school. While at East Carolina University, she became a part of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and worked as a television weather anchor on WNCT TV in Greenville, North Carolina, after which she graduated with degrees in dancing and journalism.
